Why Schools Partner with OneBigNext
Â
OneBigNext helps students, schools, and families plan and implement the transition from education into meaningful careers.
Our holistic, student-centred approach introduces all learners to all pathways - entrepreneurship, apprenticeships, employment, college, and university - so no one is left behind.
"You can't be what you can't see"Â applies to career pathways - not just jobs.
We combine practical tools, coaching, and content that gets results.
With OneBigNext, every student finds a future pathway that fits, and Gatsby compliance becomes more than just a tick-box exercise.
We provide the employability skills and career readiness experience layer your school community needs, ensuring students and their families are properly introduced to all viable options, not just traditional routes.
Our content aligns with Gatsby Benchmarks and supports PSHE frameworks, covering personal development and introductory economic and career learning.
1:1 coaching can be funded through pupil premium, EHCPs, and sixth form bursaries, helping schools deliver inclusive, impactful careers education.
Engaging Families, Staff and Governors for Stronger Outcomes
Â
At OneBigNext, we believe career readiness is a shared responsibility. That’s why we offer dedicated careers education for parents and carers, staff and governors.
Through micro-courses, webinars, and presentations, we empower families to support informed choices and strengthen destinations outcomes.
We also provide tailored content for staff and governors to support a whole-school approach to careers education, helping schools embed career readiness across leadership, curriculum, and governance.
The 2025 Gatsby framework update backs us up.

Explore
Ages 13 - 14
Students begin to connect everyday life skills with the core behaviours employers value, such as initiative, teamwork, and adaptability. They start to identify their strengths, interests, and values, and learn how these can shape future opportunities. This stage encourages students to think ahead when choosing GCSE subjects, helping them avoid closing doors too early and keeping a wide range of career pathways open.
Perfect to support students and their families ahead of GCSE / Standards option decisions, ensuring that the right doors are kept open.
Shape
Ages 15 - 16
Students sharpen decision-making, resilience, and communication as they shape informed, aspirational plans for post-16 pathways. They learn to evaluate options critically, understand the impact of post-16 choices, and begin to align their academic and personal development more closely with future goals. This stage supports students to build a personal roadmap that reflects who they are and where they want to go.
Perfect to support students and their families ahead of sixth form or college decisions, helping them align crucial choices now with their long-term career goals.
Launch
Ages 17 - 18
Students move from planning to preparation, going deeper into the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed for their chosen next step. Whether aiming for apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, employment, or university, they learn how to present themselves professionally, make strong applications, and navigate real-world opportunities with confidence. This stage supports students to take ownership of their future and make informed, strategic decisions.
Perfect to support students and their families ahead of critical post-18 choices, including apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, employment, and further study.
Outcomes
We don’t do generic careers advice. We help students build a clear, personalised roadmap, and we make sure everyone around them knows how to support it.
- Complete Coverage of All Pathways
Apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, employment, further study, university — we cover them all. Students explore what’s possible, then prepare for what’s right for them. Â
- Entrepreneurship is a Real OptionÂ
We don’t treat entrepreneurship as a footnote. It’s a valid, high-value pathway and we give it the attention it deserves.
- Employability Skills
We map life skills, school-based learning, and co-curricular experiences to the skills employers actually want, including initiative, communication, and time management. Students learn how to strategically build these skills.
- Inclusive Support
SEND, EHCP, and pupil premium / bursary students can access tailored support. We make sure no one is left behind, and every student gets what they need to move forward.
- Aligned Support for Families, Staff and Governors
Parents, carers, governors, and school staff get clear, aligned content to support career conversations and decision-making. Everyone’s on the same page.
