OneBigNext Degree Apprenticeship Summer Intensive
Year 12-13 Autumn Degree Apprenticeship Applicants
A four day live programme to help your child move from interested to well-prepared before degree apprenticeship applications open.
This programme is for young people in Years 12 or 13 who want a real head start on degree apprenticeships.
It is built around degree apprenticeships specifically, but it is equally useful for anyone considering Level 3, 4 or 5 routes.
Only 12 places available.
Degree Apprenticeship Summer Intensive Programme Outline
Most young people spend the summer being vaguely enthusiastic about apprenticeships.
This programme is built differently.
Each morning starts with a live session.
Each afternoon, your child produces something real: a profile, a plan, an audit, a piece of evidence an employer can actually see.
By day four, nothing is theoretical. Everything has been made.
This is daily, hands-on work, not a lecture series, and it stays small enough for Sandra to personally review what each young person produces.
Every session is recorded, so your child can revisit anything they need to.
Early Bird Free Bonus - Career Profiling Assessment & 60-minute 1:1 Career Coaching Session
Focus
Before the programme begins, every participant who books by Friday 10th July completes a full career profiling assessment, followed by a 60-minute 1:1 career coaching session with Sandra to review the results and agree on the best pathway.
Purpose
So your child arrives at day one with an objective, evidence-based starting point, and a clear sense of direction already in place, rather than starting cold.
Day 1 - Commit, Clarify, Start
Focus
Live teaching covering how competitive the apprenticeship market actually is, how to read and apply their career profile to a real pathway choice, and target companies to research that afternoon.
The Build
A Target Profile Statement, naming the chosen pathway, the specific reasons behind it, what the role actually involves, the skills it demands, and where your child is starting from right now. Written and finished that same afternoon, alongside notes on the companies researched.
Purpose
To replace undirected thinking with one clear, agreed direction, real companies identified, and a finished statement that proves both.
Free Bonus Session - Create Your LinkedIn Standout Profile (Monday 27 July 2026, 11am-12pm)
Focus
A dedicated hour, immediately after the day one teaching session, walking participants through exactly how to build a strong LinkedIn profile: what to include, how to write a headline, how to leverage LinkedIn to ensure that you are a strong and credible candidate.
The Build
A Live LinkedIn Profile. Your child takes the instructions straight into action and has their own profile built and live before the end of day one.
Purpose
So your child leaves the session knowing precisely what to do, not just having watched someone else do it.
This bonus session runs once, on Monday, for all participants, in addition to the daily 10–11am teaching session.
Day 2 - What Employers Want
Focus
The real criteria employers use to shortlist candidates, and an honest audit of where your child currently stands against them.
The Build
A Skills and Experience Audit, Five Named Development Priorities, and a First Action Started Against the Top Priority. Not a list of gaps to think about later. Your child leaves day two having identified exactly what to work on, and having already taken the first real step on the priority that matters most: a message sent, a course found and started, a piece of evidence gathered, something booked or begun.
Purpose
To remove guesswork about what "strong" looks like, and to make sure the most important gap has already been acted on, not just written down.
Day 3 - Build a Standout Skills and Evidence Bank
Focus
Turning the audit into a structured summer action plan, and taking the first real steps, applying, enrolling, or progressing a course.
The Build
A Personal Summer Action Plan, plus one real step taken that day. Applying, enrolling, or progressing a course, in motion, not just planned. This is also where the remaining development priorities from day two get sequenced into the plan.
Purpose
To make sure every activity your child does this summer is chosen on purpose, and that the plan is acted on the same day it is written.
Day 4 - Prepare for the Application Process
Focus
A practical look at applications, tests, interviews and assessment centres, and why candidates succeed or fail at each stage.
The Build
A Finished Application Preparation Plan and a Completed Excel Micro-Credential. Both done, not started.
Purpose
To leave the programme with a finished plan, not just a sense of what is coming.
